This week we have been learning all about milk and how it gets from the farm to our fridges. We also talked about food items that can be made from milk, one of them being butter. The class learned how butter was made a long time ago using a process known as churning. The class then wanted to test if they could turn cream from a liquid into a solid - creating butter. The children took turns shaking the bottles of cream until the cream separated into a solid (the butter) and a liquid (the buttermilk). After, we tasted the butter on crackers and it tasted delicious!
